The Dan Bodanis Band
Pat LaBarbera - Tenor Sax
For many years, Pat has performed and recorded with Buddy Rich, Louis Bellson, Santana, Ella Fitzgerald, and John Coltrane/Miles Davis drummer: Elvin Jones . He has also won the "Downbeat Magazine Poll" several times as: "Best Jazz Tenor Saxophonist." Pat has also been featured on numerous recordings as bandleader.
When Pat has other commitments with Elvin Jones, we use another very fine tenor sax player: Bob Brough... a Canadian Jazz Legend. Bob is also recognized as one of the great Canadian R&B sax players, having worked with George Olliver and Gangbuster, and also the Majestics. He was also written up in a book about famous jazz musicians in Canada, that featured Oscar Peterson, called: "OP and Me." Bob's work with his own band has led his CD to the top spot on the jazz charts during 2004. Bob also hosts a very high profile jazz-jam at the Rex Jazz Bar, a couple of times a month.
Additionally, The Dan Bodanis Band has featured internationally famous tenor sax monsters: Tom Skublics, and Michael Stuart. All four tenor sax players bring something unique to the sound-shape of the band, inspiring "instant art," each time they play.
